Social and Recreational Programs

Providing teens and young adults, who experience developmental disabilities, the opportunity to lead a meaningful and inclusive life through engaging in social and recreational activities.

We facilitate five programs for social connections and recreational participation through community based outings.

The goals of our social and recreational programs are to actively engage individuals in activities that support what they need to be successful in forming relationships with peers, accessing inclusive community social activities, and safely navigating integrated settings.

Young Adult Connections

Young Adult Connections is community based recreational group focused on helping young adults build and maintain healthy relationships while participating in a wide range of community outings.

 

Teams Tuesday

Teams Tuesday is a sub-group of Young Adult Connections for those who work or are otherwise unavailable to join our daytime group. They meet every Tuesday evening to socialize and play board games.


Life Skills Group

For individuals ages of 12+ who are interested in developing their independent living and home management skills will be engaged in hands on activities such as:

  • Home Alone Safety

  • Meal Planning and Prep

  • Budgeting

  • Cleaning & Household Management

  • DIY Projects; Household & Gardening

  • Establish Daily Routines

 

Peer to Peer

After School Club

Peer to Peer - After School Club is a youth social group that meets Monday through Friday from 2:30pm to 6pm and provides current middle and high school students the opportunity to engage with peers who have similar interests and ability levels while improving their own social, self-management, and self-advocacy skills.

Participants in this program will enjoy weekly themed activities, crafts and construction, and an introduction to cooking and home management skills.

 

Saturday Socials

Saturday Socials is a community-based recreational program designed to provide current middle and high school students the opportunity to participate in a wide range of community outings while also making friends and building relationships with their peers. 


Gal Pals

Summit Future Foundation is excited to females 18+ the opportunity to participate in social and recreational activities designed specifically for them.
